Photos from the Les Misérables Gala Concert we did at a special screening of the new film at Cineworld, Newport.
Starring myself as Jean Valjean and the New Venture Players of Newport.
Just come back from the Les Miserables Concert and Film with the New Venture Players! Super proud to have been a part of such an awesome performance and the film was fantastic! I sang Bring Him Home and One Day More :D
Also, nearly 73,000 views on our flashmob vid now! If you haven’t already seen it, here it is!
One Day More - Flashmob!
This is me and my theatre company The New Venture Players (of whom Dave Willets was once a member) performing One Day More at the Cinema in Newport, to promote our gala concert at the screening of Les Miserables this Friday.
I play Marius in this performance, but will be portraying Jean Valjean on Friday, due to cast unavailabilities. This video is a composite of several performances.
I was gonna be Marius, but our original Valjean had to pull out, so Marius has been given to someone else and I’m Valjean now! I’ll be singing Bring Him Home and One Day More :)
For those of you who don’t know, this is a gala concert at a private screening of the new Les Mis movie. We’re singing for about 35 mins, in front of the big screen, to 200 people (it sold out). It’s all black tie and poshness. There’s even be a red carpet and free champagne! I will be sure to try and get someone to film it so I can post it on here :).
Between this concert and the upcoming Les Tumblrables (i’m Enjolras) I am super duper excited!!!
I was Marius. It was my theatre company The New Venture Players, at the big local cinema, to promote our concert on friday. We are working with the cinema, doing a gala concert at an exclusive screening of the new Les Mis film. Today’s flash mob was a great success and we are doing it again on wednesday. On friday I am singing Empty Chairs at Empty Tables at the concert as well as One Day More. Should be great! Interesting fact: Dave Willets used to be in this theatre group, before moving to America and taking over from Colm Wilkinson in Les Miserables and then Michael Crawford in Phantom!
I had the distinct pleasure of performing with him in a choir at a concert in Abergavenny Borough Theatre, during his tour earlier last year. He was a fantastic guy, as well as a tremendous talent.
Muse perform “Uprising” in the LCCC, at a concert I attended two years ago with my friends. We were right at the front. It was an incredible gig! I saw them last month too, in Manchester again! :)
I went to see Muse last night, in Manchester, with my Girlfriend and my little brother.
This was the first time either of them had seen Muse (was my brother’s first ever concert) and the 5th time I had seen them, and they were better than ever! Best band in the world, in my opinion! :D
Off to see Rock of Ages on the West End tomorrow.
x
I’m also playing at it.
As is Ianto from Torchwood, and his band Blue Gillespie.
Wish me luck!
Muse at LCCC, 2010. The second time I saw them live. I was in the front row. Matt Bellamy pointed at me during Undisclosed Desires as they were hovering above the audience on the rising platform and sang the first two lines of the second verse to me.
