So!

Saw the Hobbit on thursday. It was bloody fantastic. I’ve loved that book since I was a small child and i’ve never seen a truer adaptation from book to film in my life. It was spot on. And the stuff they added in to fill in the gaps in our Tolkienesque knowledge left by the unanswered or omitted things in the Lord of the Rings films were done in an ingenious, unabrasive and exciting way. Loved every second, and it looks incredible too. Visually spectacular, fantastically acted and perfect characterization. Cannot wait for part two - The Desolation of Smaug, where Benedict Cumberbatch plays not one, but two villains; Smaug the Dragon and the evil Necromancer (Sauron). 

Today was mine and Emma’s first anniversary. We had a lovely time in Cardiff, went to Techniquest (which was fun and hilarious because neither of us have been since we were children and we were the only adults there who weren’t supervising seven year-olds) and had a gorgeous meal at Bella Italia. Here’s to many more years with my beautiful lady :)

In two days, as an anniversary/christmas present, I am taking us to see The Phantom of the Opera UK tour in Cardiff. We’re both very excited! 

So yeah, that’s an update. I am off to see the doctor in the morning. For Health reasons. Obviously.
